We write about customer support, marketing and entrepreneurship. Oh, and about Chatra, of course.

Updated Mobile Version

Summertime has just ended, but we already have an announcement about an important change in the mobile user experience in Chatra:

  • Chat window now opens in the same tab as your website on tablets and smartphones
  • Targeted chats now work for mobile users too

Got a question?

Click on a chat button, send your message and minimize the chat box by clicking on X. No new windows, all works in the same tab.

Introducing Chat Ratings and Groups

Summer is considered to be a time for rest, but Chatra team decided to dismantle this stereotype. We are happy to announce another two features :—)

Chat ratings and satisfaction reports

Once an agent joins a chat, a star icon appears in the bottom right corner of a chat box. Visitors can rate chats and leave their feedback by clicking on it.

An important update!

Attention, attention! We are happy to announce an important update: now you can grab most of the live chat benefits even when you are offline.

We’ve built a “messenger mode”: redesigned an offline form, added agents’ pictures and made offline conversations lively. Here’s the list of changes we made:

No offline form

We removed an old fashioned offline form:

01-offline-form

When all agents are offline, the widget now looks like this:

02-offline-welcome

A rigid and formal offline form has been replaced with a cute messenger box. The gray status indicator is now shining blue and you can see agents’ avatars and time of the last activity — all these things make the widget look “alive” even when agents are not available.

Turn any page into a landing page with triggered chats

We all know that specialized landing pages help to convert web traffic into leads. But, whether you’re setting up new pages on your site manually or using a special editor like Unbounce, creating landing pages still requires time and effort.

Today I’m going to tell you about an easier way to turn any page on your site into an effective landing page that sells without making any changes to the page itself.

UTM Coding 101 (plus your UTM Cheatsheet)

Here at Chatra, we’re always looking for ways to measure the effectiveness of our marketing efforts. Every visitor—in one way or another—costs time and money, so it’s important for us to understand how much we spend and how much we’ve gained. I’m sure that’s important for you too.

UTM coding is one of the most common ways of seeing what advertising channel brought a visitor to your website so you can analyze it and see the effectiveness of different ad campaigns.

Intro

Hello, friends and welcome to the Chatra blog!

Chatra is piece of modern live chat software for websites. It was started by the Getwear team. If you haven’t heard of us, “Getwear” used to manufacture custom jeans. Although the company failed, our biggest point of pride is that our support team made thousands of customers happy.

Somewhere on the journey we realized that making people happy was something that a) we were really good at and b) we wanted to help other people do. We thought about setting up a hugs and cute kittens factory, but ultimately decided that creating Chatra might be a more viable business idea.

What we’ll write about

Chatra was born out of our huge experience in customer care. We created an online customer support tool with a human face and want to share our knowledge and experience with you in this blog.

We will write about all things e-commerce, online marketing, sales psychology, and different aspects of customer care. In short, we’ll write about everything that increases revenue, improves retention and makes you a better company in the eyes of your customers.

What You’ll Learn

As a customer-centric company, we are extremely transparent. As well as writing about some of our ups, we will inevitably be writing about our downs (and what we’ve learned from them). This is not just another congratulatory, self-focused marketing blog – you’ll walk away from every post with a lesson or technique that you can try for yourself. We promise.
We are going to publish new posts weekly, on Tuesdays. To get it delivered straight to your inbox – along with other useful articles, links and news – just subscribe below. We’d love to have you aboard.
