How to add Chatra to your website

To add the chat widget to your website, sign up with Chatra:

If you already have an account, follow these simple steps:

Option 1. Manual chat installation

  1. Log into your Joomla admin panel and go to Extensions → Template Manager.
  2. Find site template which you use in the template list (it’s marked with the yellow asterisk). Open it.
  3. Choose index.php in the menu on the right.
  4. Scroll template code to the </head> tag in the code editing tab.
  5. Copy the widget code from Chat Widget section of your Chatra dashboard.
  6. Go back to Joomla panel, paste the widget code before </head> tag and press the Save button.
  7. Done!

Option 2. Live chat plugin installation

  1. Download the Chatra plugin from the Joomla directory.
  2. Log into your Joomla administration console and go to Extensions → Extension Manager.
  3. Choose Install on the top left, choose Upload & Install Joomla Extension. Upload the plugin file.
  4. Go to Extensions → Module Manager. Click New button on the top left, choose the Chatra plugin from the list.
  5. Copy the widget code from Chat Widget section of your Chatra dashboard.
  6. Go back to Joomla panel, paste the widget code into the Widget Code form.
  7. Check all standart plugin settings on the top right (Status, Position, Order, Menu assignment etc). Press Save button Widget Code on the top left.
  8. Done!
