Chatra allows you to chat with your customers, view the list of customers who are currently online on your store and start a conversation manually or via configurable automatic targeted messages.

Chatra Bot collects contact information when you are offline or unavailable to chat, so that you can get back to customers even if they left your site.

How to add Chatra to your store

To add the chat widget to your store, sign up with Chatra:

If you already have an account, follow these simple steps:

Option 1. Manual installation (recommended)

  1. Log into your OpenCart console and go to Settings (menu on the left).
  2. Click Edit icon on the right.
  3. Choose Server tab, scroll down to Google Analytics Code (If you do not see Google Analytics Code in the Server tab, check the Extensions > Analytics menu).
  4. Copy the widget code from Chat Widget section of your Chatra dashboard.
  5. Go back to OpenCart console and paste the code into the Google Analytics Code field. If there is another code in the field just paste the Chatra code right after it.
  6. Choose Enabled option from Status menu.
  7. Press Save icon on the top right.
  8. Done!

Option 2. OpenCart plugin installation

  1. Download the Chatra plugin from the OpenCart directory.
  2. Unpack the downloaded .zip file. You will find 2 folders (admin, catalog)
  3. Connect to your OpenCart server using any FTP-software.
  4. Copy both “admin” and “catalog” folders to the root folder where OpenCart software is installed. Overwrite any existing files.
  5. Log into your OpenCart console and go to Extensions → Modules (menu on the left).
  6. Find the Chatra plugin in the list and click the install button (“ + ” sign).
  7. Click blue Edit button.
  8. Enter “Chatra chat” in the Module Name field.
  9. Choose “Enabled” option from the Status menu.
  10. Copy the widget code from Chat Widget section of your Chatra dashboard.
  11. Go back to the OpenCart console and paste the widget code into the Widget Code field.
  12. Click Save icon on the top right.
  13. Click the Layout link on the top of the list.
  14. Locate the “Home” option, click Edit
  15. Choose “Chatra Live Chat” in the first drop down menu and “Content bottom” in the second one.
  16. Click Save icon on the top right.
  17. Done!
